King eulogists jab Bush at funeral By Karen Jacobs and Tabassum Zakaria
2 hours, 43 minutes ago

Speakers took a rare opportunity to criticize U.S. President George W. Bush's policies to his face at the funeral on Tuesday of Coretta Scott King, widow of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

Civil-rights leader the Rev. Joseph Lowery and former President Jimmy Carter cited Mrs. King's legacy as a leader in her own right and advocate of nonviolence as they launched barbs over the Iraq war, government social policies and Bush's domestic eavesdropping program.

Bush sat watching the long service before an audience of 10,000 including politicians, civil rights leaders and entertainers at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, and a national cable television audience.

Lowery, former head of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, which King helped found in 1957, gave a playful reading of a poem in eulogy of Mrs. King.

"She extended Martin's message against poverty, racism and war / She deplored the terror inflicted by our smart bombs on missions way afar," he said.

"We know now there were no weapons of mass destruction over there / But Coretta knew and we knew that there are weapons of misdirection right down here / Millions without health insurance. Poverty abounds. For war billions more but no more for the poor."

The mourners gave a standing ovation. Bush's reaction could not be seen on the television coverage, but after Lowery finished speaking, the president shook his hand and laughed.

Mrs. King, seen by many as the "first lady" of the American civil rights movement, died last week in a Mexican alternative health clinic at the age of 78, after complications from ovarian cancer and a recent stroke and heart attack.

Bush, speaking before his critics, said, "By going forward with a strong and forgiving heart, Coretta Scott King not only secured her husband's legacy, she built her own."

With Washington debating the legality of Bush's domestic eavesdropping on Americans suspected of al Qaeda ties, Carter also drew applause with pointed comments on federal efforts to spy on the Kings.

"It was difficult for them personally with the civil liberties of both husband and wife violated, and they became the targets of secret government wiretapping and other surveillance," he said.

Speaking later, Bush's father, former President George Bush, broke any tension by recalling his own meetings as president with Lowery and gave a score: "Lowery 21, Bush 3, it wasn't a fair fight."

Former President Bill Clinton, a favorite among mainstream civil rights leaders, was able to offer a teasing hint of the possible presidential candidacy of his wife, New York Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

What do Black people want? A Mercedes, a 3000 ft^2 house, designer clothing- all without working?

You must have been smoking because those statistics are so far off the mark it aint funny. Have you been taking lessons from Bill White and just make this sh*t up as you go along?

    ROH,

You have called me a liar, made an erroneous statement (as my figures prove) and then have disappeared.

Funny that, I ‘pinned’ (I am using this word in an unorthodox manner) you as a man (or woman?) of integrity; one that would either apologize or expand on his or her previous statement. You have not.

I should not be too surprised, however, because the truth can be painful to hear (or in this read).

I said the first set of stats you posted was off the mark and the second set differs from the first.

Further more the authors sources are out dated. 1994 is the most recent reference. And most of them are questionable about their accuracy.

In order to backup a point out dated statistics from an unknown source just aint gonna fly. Step to the plate with cold hard facts.

    Dear Nikki,

Just got a chance to hear repulsive ass Bill White on Hal Turner. More than ever this man makes me wish his mother had sought abortion as a viable alternative to giving Mr. Bill the breath of life.

I'll bet that after all that he has put the family through his mother wishes the same thing. I listened to that earlier and can guarantee that I am beyond livid.

His long, rambling diatribe was the nadir of simplistic, juvenile, embicility--his bizarre breathy voice was an interesting counterpoint to the half-hour of verbal vomit he gushed forth from the sewer beneath his nostrils.

It gets worse...much worse. I find it next to impossible to sit through an hour of his offerings.

Make a long story short. MR. BILL OPENLY ADVOCATES PUTTING ALL OF US IN "RE-EDUCATION" (read: concentraion) CAMPS. This is straight from the horse's ass, in this case, Mr. Bill's lying mouth.

Actually, that's pretty mild considering that at one point, he advocated our rape and murder.

You really should listen to this broadcast. If it wasn't so disturbing, it would be hilarious.

A fat, woman-beating, college-dropout slumlord has all the "answers" for society. Who in the hell is the titanic failure Bill White to stand in judgement over anyone?

Defective mental processes often result in the belief that one is superior over all others. In the case of Bill White - he is not only "superior" but an icon. Don't you know that all are just bowing down in awe of the great "White" hope?

This man is lucky he isn't within slapping distance. As it is, Mr. Bill had better hope I never contract a terminal illness.

I might view life, and justice, in different terms if that were so.

Sorry for the digression, but I am sitting listening to him in sheer disbelief.

If you manage to sit through that whole thing, you deserve a medal. I had to approach it in small doses. When I finished, I had to shower because I felt as if I had been touched by filth - pure, unadulterated filth.

Forget sound mind - it doesn't exist in Bill White. Forget character, and morality, and ethics - they are all alien to Bill White. Ya know, every once in awhile we have to take out the garbage - and he needs to be at the top of the heap.

  5. Stefan - this wasn't "NSM Radio" - this was the voice of insanity.
