Just A Little Circle of Friends...
(Forty Years of Deception Still Alive and Well)

Old adages such as "Birds of a feather flock together, " or "You are judged by the company you keep" often have been proven to have exceptions, yet they still hold true in many situations and maybe more so in the White Supremacy Movement.

I have written countless articles chronicling the sleazy side of the neo-Nazi's in the United States and have often noted what appears to be a disproportionate propensity toward domestic violence, child abuse or neglect, adultery, promiscuity, and pornography. Additionally, I have frequently pointed out the lack of loyalty to each other among members of this group.

A few years ago, I started asking questions and pointing out what I believed to be some rather interesting relationships among a certain group of people, all operating together, to further an agenda of hate, bigotry, anti-Semitism, and genocide. As the years have passed, those relationships have become even more suspect in the mind of this writer. As is evidenced and well chronicled, the White Supremacy Movement has largely been factionalized for the last forty years. Yet there are many commonalities between the factions. Indeed, the ties often cross ideological lines and move into the realms of religion, revisionism, and politics. Because these groups pose a danger to the very fabric of American society, it behooves us to know where their support base is and who really finances racism, anti-Semitism, and bigotry in the United States and abroad. It is also important that the hypocrisy and deception of those leading the movement be explored and exposed to all who hold an interest in knowing the truth. In order to bring this all into perspective, a little history of these people must be told. As we move through the tawdry and violent world of hate we will demonstrate the true nature of those leaders from the past as well as those attempting to weave their way into the mainstream today.


In 1974, twenty-four-year old David Duke formed the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and was running roughshod in Louisiana. Needing money for many of his white power endeavors, Duke published a book under the name of Dorothy Vanderbilt entitled "Finders Keepers." It was a women's self-help book giving advice on vaginal exercises, fellatio, and anal sex.

Also in 1974, he had married Chloe Hardin with whom he had two children. Chloe was active in Duke's Klan group but after ten years together, Hardin divorced Duke and moved to Florida where she met and married one of David's Klan buddies, Don Black who is now the Stormfront guru.

As a teen, Duke began communicating with Dr. William Luther Pierce, founder of the infamous National Alliance and author of the "Turner Diaries." For many years the Alliance was considered the largest and most formidable hate group in America. It spawned numerous future leaders of racist and anti-Semitic groups nationwide.

David Duke was somewhat of an anomaly within the movement at that time. With his proclamation that he was going to change the face of the Klan, he was able to recruit others such as Louis Beam, Don Black, and Tom Metzger into this radicalization from sheets to suits.

While Duke believed in the rhetoric he was spewing, he was unable to control his own ego and appetites. He had found a way to appease his own need for recognition and his penchant for a lavish lifestyle - he became a professional racist - a con man.

Membership lists are the lifeblood of white supremacist organizations. These rosters are necessary to building, maintaining and financing their groups and their activities. Because of the unsavory nature of the beliefs and the endeavors of such groups, members generally prefer to remain anonymous and they rely upon the leaders to maintain their privacy.

Duke knew the importance of these lists and he set out to build his own database of like-minded people and potential contributors - by any means necessary.

Now, Duke wasn't above unscrupulous behaviors. After all, he had expenses to meet and an agenda. In 1972, he was arrested for pocketing $500 in contributions that were meant for the campaign coffers of George Wallace so stealing and selling membership lists was no big deal. Stealing the membership from the National Alliance was easy.

By the latter half of the 1970's, his womanizing had become legendary. The Rev. Johnny Lee Clary, former Kluxer and bodyguard to Duke turned anti-racist, related to one reporter how Duke would wave the Bible around preaching Christian values and then take a members' wife to bed.

Never mind that Duke was the married father of two, Tom Metzger, a long-time racist leader, spoke of how Duke would arrive at various events and begin hitting on women. "We used to tell people, 'When Duke comes to town make sure your wife is safely locked up and don't let him near your daughter,'" said Metzger.

John Maginnis, author of "Cross to Bear," a profile of David Duke, recounted the story of a legislative aide who had lunch with Duke. "He started explaining to me that blonde, blue-eyed, Scandinavian looking people were God's chosen people, that they were made in his image. He said that God didn't want to dilute this perfection so we should only mate with others of our kind. He then asked me if I wanted to mate with him. It was the weirdest come-on line I've ever heard."

One of Duke's former girlfriends, Lori Eden, a swimsuit and lingerie model who owned and operated her own adult website, claimed that at one point in their relationship she believed herself to be pregnant. Duke, who is a strong pro-life advocate, offered to take her to Paris where they could get the "abortion pill" which was not legal in this country. According to Eden, Duke said he had been through this kind of thing before and feared that the publicity would ruin him politically.

David Duke didn't work. He ran his political campaigns, the proceeds of which he lived off of. He duped his supporters into believing that their contributions were helping him save the white race. And he lived large - nose job, chin implant, houses, babe on each arm, limos to the casinos and money to burn - other people's money. According to those close enough to know, a typical day for Duke would find him sleeping late, checking the mail for money, playing golf, going to the gym, and then heading for the casino at night.

Eventually, it all caught up with him, however. In 2003, Duke was sentenced to a short stint in federal prison for raising funds under false pretenses (mail fraud) and lying on his tax forms.


Vince Breeding - real name, Bruce Alan Breeding - was Duke's right hand man for a number of years. To those who knew of his background this should have seemed like a strange union - at least on the surface. While Duke favored the clean-cut image with impeccable dress and spouted Christian values, Breeding was playing guitar in a black metal band called Acheron that was Satanic to the core. The leader of the group was Vincent Crowley, reported an ordained "priest" in Anton LaVey's Church of Satan. He moonlighted in a striptease club in the Tampa Bay area.

In 1994, Breeding joined Dr. Pierce's National Alliance and became very active in promulgating their message of racism and anti-Semitism. He produced an underground radio show out of Tampa on which he broadcast Dr. Pierce's American Dissident Voices 24/7. When his radio signal began to interfere with the broadcasts of other local radio stations, citizens in the area started to complain to which he often responded with threats of violence and promises to never cease. Eventually, he was shut down.

Vince Breeding was certainly no Mr. Nice Guy. His associations alone were cause for many to raise their eyebrows and keep him at arms length. The Southern Poverty Law Center reports that during 1997, while Breeding was organizing events featuring Holocaust denier David Irving and the chameleonic David Duke he was sharing an apartment with Todd Vanbiber, another member of Pierce's National Alliance.

In January of 1996, Vanbiber and friend, Brian Pickett, robbed the Barnett Bank in Tampa. A month later they robbed the New Milford Savings and Loan in Danbury, Conn. After the Danbury robbery they paid Dr. Pierce a visit where they donated $1000.00 of their booty to the cause and purchased $700.00 in books from the Alliance.

In April of 1997, as he was assembling an 8-inch pipe bomb, capped at both ends, it blew up in Vanbiber's face causing serious injury. When the ATF searched his storage unit, they found several weapons, ammunition, and munitions manufacturing guides.

According to the authorities, "fourteen bombs were to be placed along two major routes in the Florida tourist capital: Interstate 4, the major access highway to Walt Disney World, and U.S. Highway 441."

Several of the bombs had already been fully assembled. Some had been prepared with timing devices, batteries, timers, and clocks. They had initially planned the bombing for April 19, the second anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing before a change in plans.

While Breeding was not officially implicated in his roommate's bombing escapade, he was busily setting up websites to further the National Alliance's bid for new recruits.

As Breeding maintained his membership in the National Alliance and worked dilligently to bolster their rank and file, his relationship with David Duke began to blossom. In 1999, Breeding launched the Nationalist News Service which operated out of Don Black's internet group, Stormfront.

The National Alliance was big and becoming bigger. Their Resistance Records enterprise was becoming a cash cow for the N.A. and Dr. Pierce, and the envy of other hate groups around the world. When Vince Breeding stole the mailing list of the white power music organization, his relationship with Dr. Pierce was severed instantly. We can only speculate as to who enticed Breeding into such an act.

Once he had burned that bridge he and the membership list traveled to Louisiana where he moved in with Duke and became his lackey. Actually, they suited each other quite well. Both had a penchant for money and life in the fast lane. Both were unprincipled. And both had honed their ability to con and scam their way through life.

After numerous name changes, Duke's organization settled on being known as the European American Unity and Rights Organization or EURO. Breeding, using the name of Vince Edwards, ran Duke's website and enhanced Duke's presence on the web. Both maintained their ties with Duke's other acolyte, Don Black, who had already built an amazing white power base on the internet.



Shortly after David Duke was sentenced to 15 months in prison, in 2003, a bombshell was dropped on the white nationalist community when it was revealed that Vince Breeding, a.k.a. Vince Edwards, a.k.a. Bruce Allen Breeding, was also "Vince the Munkay" who was anything but a white supremacist.

Vince the "Munkay" traipsed around at a party in sunglasses and a furry, floor length coat proclaiming, "You will learn to respect the dark powers of the Munkay," while promoting his "Xsite" magazine and website.


Both the rag and the site advertised "Ebony Escorts" as well as mother-daughter sex acts, and gay, lesbian and bisexual dating services.

As Breeding's alter-ego, "The Munkay" came to light one could only wonder how much about all of this was known to Pierce, Duke, Black, et.al. They knew. To think otherwise is inconceivable denial.

During Duke's incarceration, Don Black managed to keep him at the forefront with his Stormfront website. Periodic updates were always available as well as nauseating lamentations about the unjust system that kept him from his followers.


Black grew up during a time of civil unrest and turmoil in this country and he chose to become a movement in his own right. During his high school years he decided that his high school was the perfect place to recruit others into his efforts to save the white race from what was surely to be its extinction. He began by handing out flyers and newspapers containing information on the dire straits of his people. Of course, school administrators determined that this was unacceptable and banned all political propaganda from school grounds.

This was a challenge to Black. He knew he had to get creative so he garnered a mailing list of students and began sending his message through the mail. By the time he was a Junior, he had set his eye on the political machine. He knew where he was going. Politics - that's where he could do the most good to keep his beloved South and his country to stay segregated along racial lines.

J.D. Stoner, a staunch segregationist and leader of the National States' Rights Party was running for Governor of Georgia and Don Black decided to help in his campaign.

Now, Black was in training in the National Socialist Youth Movement which was a branch of the National Socialist White People's Party. For those unfamiliar, the NSWPP had been formerly called the American Nazi Party until George Lincoln Rockwell changed the name shortly before his assassination.


Robert Lloyd was the second in command of the NSWPP and, by many accounts, he had been Rockwell's pick as his successor over the current leader at the time, Matt Koehl. (Koehl now heads up a neo-Nazi outfit known as "The New Order." He was also a member of Stoner's National States' Rights Party). It's important to note that Robert Lloyd and William Luther Pierce were tight and rumor has it that Lloyd and Pierce broke into the safe of Rockwell and destroyed his political testament.

Knowing that they had a young, eager-beaver in the Stoner campaign, Robert Lloyd instructed Don Black to steal the membership list of the National States' Rights Party from Stoners' office, no doubt assuring him that such a deed would ingratiate him to the powers that be. Black was only too happy to accommodate.

What the 16-year-old didn't plan on was the vehemence with which Stoners' followers protected his files. As Don was lifting the roster out of the office, he was met with a .38- caliber hollow point to the chest. The gun was fired by Jerry Ray, brother of James Earl Ray. Jerry Ray beat the charges by claiming that he believed Black to be reaching for a weapon and fired in self-defense. Of course, it didn't help that Black was is in the process of committing a serious crime.

After college, Don Black hooked up with David Duke and began helping in the recruitment process as well as in Duke's political campaigns. The charlatanistic Duke schooled the young man in his beliefs that supremacy should be promoted as nationalism and that sheets should be traded for suits. The public persona was, of course, to always be quite different than the private.

In 1981, Don Black, along with nine other white supremacists tried their hands at becoming mercenaries. They were caught in the middle of trying to execute a planned coup that they dubbed "Operation Red Dog." The men were to leave out of a New Orleans marina and stage an offensive take-over of the small island of Dominica. They would do this with eight machine guns, ten shotguns, five rifles, ten handguns, ten pounds of dynamite, 5,496 rounds of ammunition, and a large Nazi flag.

When arrested, they were charged with "seeking to create a drug, gambling, and offshore banking empire on the island republic." Black made the following statement before being sentenced to three years in prison for violation of the U.S. Neutrality Act:

"What we were doing was in the best interest of the United States and its security in the hemisphere and we feel betrayed by our government."

Our federal prisons' rehabilitation services were made available to Mr. Black during his time there and he certainly put them to use. In some ways, you could say that that those services created a monster. Black immersed himself in computer programming classes and upon his release he knew he had a future.

First, he ran for a U.S. Senate seat - quite unsuccessfully. He also married the former Chole Duke - David Duke's ex-wife.

Black started experimenting with the internet. He quickly realized the potential the World Wide Web held for recruiting and networking with like-minded people the world over. The sheer anonymity that the net offered was compelling. His experimentation led to his creation of Stormfront in 1995. Stormfront has served as an umbrella and clearing house under which people from various hate groups and supremacy persuasions have been able to congregate, share information, and publish ideas for the last fourteen years. It has also served as a money-making enterprise for Don Black.

While Black left the Klan, he did not leave Duke or his organization. Quite the contrary. Through Stormfront, Black has provided a venue and a forum from which Duke can mentor and influence others in his endeavors.

It is important for the reader that we pause at this juncture and reflect upon a few pertinent truisms that might not be evident at this point. The three individuals profiled so far have some obvious commonalities.

All three have been extremely influential in the movement for decades. All three became involved in racist and anti-Semitic activities at a very young age. All three have made their livelihoods from the movement and illicit exploits. All three possess many of the same character flaws - amorality, criminal minds, and disloyalty. What may not be as evident is their recruitment and the influence of others sharing membership in certain groups.

Throughout the discussion thus far one name emerges time and time again - that of Dr. William Luther Pierce and his organization, the National Alliance. Accordingly, as is still the case today, cross-participation in various groups was not unheard of. As we progress through this look at our little circle of friends the reader is asked to keep in mind the names of certain individuals and organizations so as to be able to make the connections between them.

While names and acronyms such as the National Socialist White People's Party (NSWPP) or the National States' Rights Party (NSRP) may be confusing or even alien to the reader, it is important to grasp the scope of the ties that one has to the other.

Regardless of how baseless or unfounded the beliefs of the racist right seem to mainstream Americans, the truth is that many of the followers deeply buy into the rhetoric spewed by the leaders of these organizations. As you have seen, so far, membership lists are among the coveted assets of these groups largely because of the financial benefits. But, hate, to people like Pierce and Duke and Black is also a business. It is their job - their way of making a living.

Book sales, white-power music sales, speaking engagements, and member donations all help them to line the pockets of their organizations and themselves. But, there's more...much more. Political ties and palm-greasings are important and very necessary as well as friends in very high places.

As we move on to a few other note-worthy individuals, please note the not-so-complex web of companions that has suckered in the unsuspecting and the implications for the future that such pernicious bedfellows holds for all of us.

Creepy People

“I deeply resent the way I’ve been characterized. I’m no more a white supremacist than the Dalai Lama is. I love my people just as he does.”(Kevin Alfred Strom, courtroom statement 1/14/08)

Kevin Alfred Strom was once the metaphorical backbone of the largest and most prolific hate group in America. Serving Dr. William Luther Pierce, and later taking his place as America’s Dissident Voice, Strom was considered one of the true intellectuals in the racist movement.

Revered by some and deeply criticized by others, Strom would later become the Director of National Vanguard, a splinter groups which never really got off the ground.

Considered by many to be “too effeminate,” Kevin Strom had another onus to bear. He wasn’t the homosexual that many on the extreme right suspected - he liked girls – very young girls.

For years, Kevin maintained a website with an odd collection of art mixed in with virulently racist rhetoric. At he beginning of the 21st Century, his cyber presence was rife with pictures of young females, usually scantily clad, and often belonging to parents active in the National Alliance. Many of those pictures were, reportedly, presented without parental knowledge.

Even though Strom was suspected of being “sexually twisted” by many individuals on the racist right, his radio programs and scholarly essays continued to be disseminated and praised by those who would otherwise have considered him unfit for white nationalist circles.

When Strom was arrested in January of 2008, on a series if child pornography and intimidate charges, some were shocked, some were disbelieving and still others were in complete denial.

Don Black, founder and operator of the oldest and largest white nationalist website, Stormfront, admitted that he was not surprised and that “they” had been worried that this was going to happen. Yet there were those, and still are, who refused to believe the charges. Many believed that his wife Elisha set him up even after evidence surfaced and eventually, by Kevin’s own admission, it became clear that he had, in fact, not only received and possessed child pornography, but had actually stalked a 10-year-old female.

While some charges were dropped, on January 14th, 2008, Strom pled guilty to child pornography and will be sentenced in April. Out of concern, the Judge asked Kevin if he had been coerced or, in any way, intimidated into making such an admission to which Strom replied, “They’re trying to kill me because of the press coverage,” he said. “I deeply resent the way I’ve been characterized. I’m no more a white supremacist than the Dalai Lama is. I love my people just as he does.”

For most people, living within the realm of sanity, the very idea of child pornography and pedophilia is repulsive and being legally charged with such crimes is unthinkable. Yet Strom is more concerned about the media coverage labeling him a “white supremacist,” which he is.

Additionally, we all know that in jail or prison any inmate who has committed crimes against children are not going to fare well and are much more likely to be attacked or killed. Why then the concern over being called a white supremacist? Could it be that Mr. Strom knows that not even the Aryan Brotherhood will be on his side?

For years Strom has railed against African-Americans, Jews, and other minority groups. To now be concerned about his extremely racist views seems almost ridiculous. However, being called a white supremacist doesn’t sit well with his wife either.

In an interview after the court appearance, Elisha Strom was quick to correct reporter Lisa Provence from “The Hook”telling her that she isn’t a white supremacist either, but a white separatist who wants a white homeland.

There is very little to laugh at in this seedy and repulsive case, but watching the two racists strive to somehow ameliorate their racism is pretty damned funny. As the National Alliance has had their stated goals listed for years, to suddenly attempt to cast a more positive light on themselves in the midst of something most of the sane world has difficulty stomaching, is beyond the point of ridiculous.

Here are three of their stated objectives…

"We will do whatever is necessary to achieve this White living space and to keep it White. We will not be deterred by the difficulty or temporary unpleasantness involved, because we realize that it is absolutely necessary for our racial survival."

"The fact is that we need a strong, centralized government spanning several continents to coordinate many important tasks during the first few decades of a White world: the racial cleansing of the land, the rooting out of racially destructive institutions, and the reorganization of society on a new basis."

"The central task of a new government will be to reverse the racially devolutionary course of the last few millennia and keep it reversed: a long-term eugenics program involving at least the entire populations of Europe and America. Such a task is necessarily intrusive, and it will require large-scale organization."

While Elisha Strom apparently assisted the prosecution and testified against her husband it is unclear whether she did so willingly or to save herself from being indicted on charges, as well. There are several questions regarding her involvement.

Throughout the last year, Elisha has attempted to rid herself of the cloud that still hangs over her head as far as her fellow racists are concerned. She has claimed that her relationship with Kevin has been a stormy one, especially since she caught him masturbating in front of the computer while viewing photos of the heads of the neo-Nazi singing duo of Prussian Blue, now 15, pasted on the naked bodies of younger female children.

During that time, Elisha claimed that she had made Kevin sign a contract to seek help for his problem and to continue in counseling until such time that he was “cured” from his pedophilia. She placed that notarized contract online as proof that she had taken some sort of action.

Later, an audio tape of Kevin speaking with his counselor surfaced. On the tape, he admitted to being attracted to children and to the fact that Elisha had caught him masturbating to images of “shockingly young girls.” Also on the tape, he chronicled how Elisha had set up what sounded to be an elaborate set of cameras in the house in order to catch him. This revelation only fed the hysteria of those who believed Elisha had been complicit in setting him up.

Elisha also spoke of an incident where he had walked the young child that he had been stalking to the car during a rain shower while leaving his own family behind without the benefit of an umbrella. Additionally, she recalled an incident where she, Kevin, and Prussian Blue were present at a David Duke event. She claimed that Keving wanted to take pictures of the young girls in their bathing suits while they were at the pool. According to Elisha, she headed him off and got someone else to take the pictures.

All of this, however, still begs the question, if she knew about Kevin’s penchant for children why didn’t she warn the parents of the children Kevin had access to? Additionally, why did she remain with Kevin throughout all of this?

We’ve all heard of the battered woman syndrome and how many women are afraid to leave or continue to return to the abusive relationship. But – this is different. This involved children who were being preyed upon and exploited – and she remained.

While all of this would, undoubtedly, make a really good movie for Lifetime, it really doesn’t play well to those of us who realize that the semantics of supremacist and separatist really doesn’t make a hill of beans or to those of us who, at the realization that our spouse was seriously twisted and deviant would have taken the high-road and left the bastard’s ass hanging out to dry while singing like a canary at the local precinct.

In fact, the only thing it does is solidify our belief that those involved in racist activities really are pretty creepy people.

Ron Paul - Viral Marketing or Viral Infection?

Words that are spoken often leave permanent scars - and regardless of one's efforts they cannot be taken back. People can change. People can alter their ideologies. What people can't do is keep those beliefs hidden forever. Presidential hopeful, Ron Paul, may not have a snowball's chance in hell of ever hearing "Hail to the Chief" as he graces the red carpet - but he is making his mark among those who believe him to be the "Great White Hope."

Watching the drama unfold as the 2008 Presidential Candidates bloody each other up while seeking their party's endorsement may not be something that tops the list of America's entertainment seekers. However, even the most apathetic among us would have to agree that the list of candidates is an interesting one. An African-American, a woman, a bevy of right wingers and a racist are all jockeying for position and ultimately the right to lead the country.

One of those candidates, Ron Paul, probably won't make it to the forefront but he is creating a ruckus on the internet. A few days ago, Political Editor of the Huffington Post, Thomas B. Edsall, wrote a column entitled, "To His Dismay, Ron Paul Becoming Magnet for White Supremacists." Well…DUH! As I read Edsall's piece I couldn't help but wonder where this man had been all his life. The article states:

"The Paul campaign dismissed the pro-Paul activities among these groups. "We don't know who these people are," said Jesse Benton, Paul's communications director. "Their support has "nothing to do with Ron Paul, and what he stands for....His message of freedom, peace and prosperity - that's why people support him."
"Paul has not made racist or anti-Semitic appeals to the controversial organizations and their members. Instead, their support is based on Paul's libertarian opposition to government generally, including the IRS and the powers granted to the federal government under the Patriot Act - views that are shared by many on the conservative fringe of the spectrum."

Forgive me, but I think I might be sick. Let's just look at who this Dr. Ron Paul is. Ron Paul is no newcomer to the political arena and no newcomer to extremism. That's always been his stock-in-trade. From far right-wing milita and tax-evasion groups to downright racist organizations and individuals Paul has built a bastion of bigotry and laid the foundation for this moment.

Like the racists, he couches his rhetoric in euphemistic speech and coat-tails on to popular movements as a means to further his racist and anti-Semitic agenda.
It has been said that Ron Paul is so far right that he is almost left. It's a very weird and, sometimes confusing, set of precepts and concepts with which Paul has spun his web. He was once a Libertarian and sought the Presidency in 1988. Today he runs as a Republican with some claiming that he is the closest thing to what a Republican conservative should be and others claiming that he is anything but.
Highlighting the confusion, and almost bizarre, incongruences that Paul is noted for, the late Molly Ivins, well known Texas columnist had this to say during the 1996 congressional race in Texas:

"In the amazing 14th, Democrat Lefty Morris (his slogan is ''Lefty is Right!'') faces the Republican/Libertarian Ron Paul, who is himself so far right that he's sometimes left, as happens with your Libertarians. I think my favorite issue here is Paul's 1993 newsletter advising ''Frightened Americans'' on how to get their money out of the country. He advised that Peruvian citizenship could be purchased for a mere 25 grand. That we should all become Peruvians is one of the more innovative suggestions of this festive campaign season. But what will the Peruvians think of it?"

Ron Paul has had a long-standing relationship with the "Patriot Movement" and the "Tax Resistance Movement." The Patriot Network, an anti-tax, anti-government group, held a dinner in Paul's honor in 2004, and heavily endorses him for President. The Patriot Network has overlapping ties with a lot of other militia and Christian Identity groups.

The alliance with these types of groups doesn't stop there for Dr. Paul, however. If you are truly judged by the company that you keep, then it shouldn't be too much of a leap to determine just who Ron Paul really is. Among his friends and supporters you can add Tom DeLay, who contributed at least $6,000 to Paul's campaign. In return, Paul voted to allow DeLay to continue in his position after an indictment was handed down for criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

Perhaps even more disturbing is Paul's close and enduring friendship with Christian Reconstructionist Gary North, who is a leading figure in that movement and who served on Paul's staff at one time.

Gary North has many ties to the radical right and to policy makers in the halls of government. Some might remember North best for his inaccurate prognostication of a cataclysmic event concerning Y2K. According to Wikipedia, "North's economic views are libertarian, and he is a believer in the Austrian School of economics. However, socially, he is an advocate of theonomic rule ("the rule of God's law") and proposes a strict legal system based on Biblical laws, which might execute people for violations of those laws (such as sodomy, adultery, witchcraft) that are not capital offenses under current U.S. laws."

North was also a harbinger of doom over the spread of AIDS. According to NNDB,
"In his wryly-titled 1987 essay The Plague Has Come at Last, North predicted millions of deaths by AIDS, full hospitals by 1992. Quoting Camus and forecasting a global epidemic, North wrote:

"In 1992, we will run out of available hospital beds. This means that when you take a family member to stay in the hospital, you will either be sent away, or be sent to a very expensive private hospital, or they will start stacking AIDS victims up in minimal-care, crowded facilities.

"By then, many victims will be heterosexuals.

"But after 1991, it starts getting really serious. Unless a cure is found, or for some reason the disease ceases to be lethal, the doubling process gets us. Those infected today now number between three million and four million. The incubation period, says Dr. Koop, is ten years. They don't know how many people presently infected will actually get full-blown AIDS, but it may be as high as half. It may be 100%, if we wait long enough. But the disease is spreading fast. If it continues to double, 64 million Americans will be infected by the end of 1990. If it slows to half the present rate, and does so immediately, then "only" 15 million will be carriers in 1990.

"The article begins as a somewhat cogent diatribe, but quickly degenerates into the usual palm-waving and all-caps text of a junior high Robert Mcelwaine:

"The only long-term solution is MORAL AND RELIGIOUS. ... THERE IS GOING TO BE A WILD EXODUS FROM THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS. You KNOW I'm right. All talk about "white flight" will end; regardless of race, color, or national origin, THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE GOING TO BE ABANDONED. ... Look, PEOPLE DON'T USE CONDOMS WHEN KISSING. ... WE NEED A PROPHET, NOT A PUBLIC RELATIONS AGENT FOR CONDOMS. ... THE AIDS VIRUS ATTACKS THE BRAIN. DEMENTIA IS THE RESULT. ... THERE IS NO SAFE SEX ANY MORE. ... SENTENCING YOUNG PEOPLE TO DEATH ... STRICT ISOLATION ... INSECTS ... WORLDWIDE PANIC ... LIFETIME CONTAGION ... CRITICAL MASS ..."

Gary North, on top of everything else, sits on the Council for National Policy along with several of his friends. The Council for National Policy is a highly secretive group of extreme right wingers who are very wealthy and very powerful.

In 1992, Ron Paul produced an independent newsletter. During this period, statements made by Paul raised more than a few eyebrows and are coming back to haunt him today. Here are Paul's own words:

"Opinion polls consistently show that only about 5 percent of blacks have sensible political opinions, i.e. support the free market, individual liberty and the end of welfare and affirmative action,"

Paul continued that politically sensible blacks are outnumbered "as decent people." Citing reports that 85 percent of all black men in the District of Columbia are arrested, Paul wrote:

"Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the `criminal justice system,' I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal," Paul said.

"…although we are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, it is hardly irrational. Black men commit murders, rapes, robberies, muggings and burglaries all out of proportion to their numbers.

Paul even had the chutzpah to say that African-American youths who commit crimes should be tried as adults. He has come under severe criticism not only for his remarks, but for using statistics that were published and skewed by the infamous racist Jared Taylor.

Not surprisingly, once this information surfaced, Paul started back-pedaling claiming that he didn't write those remarks and that a "ghostwriter" had been the culprit. Few believe this to be true, but even if it were he would not escape culpability as he allowed the statements to stand until that time when they might prove harmful to his bid for office.

Consequently, it is with great amusement that I have watched bloggers - of the conservative kind - ask the question, "Why is Stormfront endorsing Ron Paul? Moreover, they wonder why Paul doesn't rebuke their ideology and refuse their support.

Well…um…first of all, as reprehensible as the Stormfront website might be, they do have the right to support and endorse anyone they choose. Secondly, Ron Paul, as one reporter put it, is a "magnet for white supremacists." He attracts them because of his extremism and his right wing stance. He has also attracted a few from the other end of the spectrum, because of his stand on the war. So…what did they expect?

An endorsement from Stormfront is a logical and not unexpected move as David Duke and Jamie Kelso have tipped their hat in Paul's direction. Duke and Kelso have a huge following among Stormfronters and are joined at the hip with Don Black, Stormfront's owner and leader.

Ron Paul has also been a favorite among those at the Council of Conservative Citizens and the League of the South. He has been interviewed on Political Cesspool, the wildly popular radio show which proffers the racist and anti-immigration stances of the Council. Additionally, Paul's campaign progress is continuously monitored by the Council and Political Cesspool.

He is also the chairman of the Liberty Caucus, which includes some of the most conservative members of the House including Tom Tancredo, Jimmy Duncan, and Virgil Goode. Ron Paul is a member of Tom Tancredo's Immigration Reform Caucus, as well.
Tom Tancredo is another favorite among the racist and neo-Confederate groups to which he has pandered.

Paul has been termed the "Internet Darling" by the media because of his wide-spread support on the internet. He is ranked among the top internet search engines as generating the most hits and his YouTube videos have achieved an all time high with at least 33,000 subscribers.

Some claim that it is a mere handful of puppets who are "padding and skewing" the internet statistics, while others prophesy a real upset in the making.
Redstate.com, a popular Republican website, recently banned new Ron Paul supporters from engaging in any commentary referencing Paul. Chastising and warning Paul posters, the notice read as follows:

"Attention, Ron Paul Supporters (Life is *REALLY* Not Fair)," begins, "Effective immediately, new users may *not* shill for Ron Paul in any way shape, form or fashion. Not in comments, not in diaries, nada. If your account is less than 6 months old, you can talk about something else, you can participate in the other threads and be your zany libertarian self all you want, but you cannot pimp Ron Paul. Those with accounts more than six months old may proceed as normal."
Redstate founder, Erick Erickson stated, "They're terribly annoying and they don't add to the debate. If people are adding to the debate we don't have a problem with them coming here. But they're just coming to promote Ron Paul. They talk over everyone. They yell at everyone."

Actually, Redstate.com isn't the only internet site that is upset with Paul's computer savvy group of well-wishers. Many discussion groups throughout cyberspace have been the recipients of the spam-like overzealousness of Paul supporters.
Ron Paul has been repeatedly ignored and omitted by the media as well as many prominent groups seeking the presence of presidential hopefuls. That's not too surprising given the fact that, generally speaking, front-runners get most of the publicity. This is frustrating for those who seek to push Paul into the Republican forefront and perhaps accounts for the rabidity with which they promote their candidate.

Certainly, Ron Paul cannot be held responsible for those who seem to like his ideas. Certainly, no one can be held responsible for the fact that unsavory and unscrupulous people align themselves with him - that is, if they are uninvited. The question that looms and begs an answer is whether or not he sent the invitation.

I contend that by virtue of those with whom Ron Paul associates with, and by virtue of his comments the invitation is a tacit one - but an invitation just the same.

PSYCHOSIS IS WHAT IT'S CALLED

The racist right and hate groups, in general, seem to harbor a pervasiveness of mental illness. From psychotic egocentrism to pedophilia, a case can be made indicting these groups as magnets for the perverse. Setting the aberrant thought process that racism requires aside, there is definitely something within that “Movement” which attracts and feeds weirdoes, criminals, and fiendishness.

With the recent arrests of some of the more prominent personalities within that cultish segment of our society for things such as pedophilia and child pornography it is little wonder that many on the racist right are thinking strongly about either leaving or cleaning up their outlandish actions.

When it was announced that several notables within the movement were planning on attending and lending their speaking acumen to a gathering in Orange County, California, hosted by Joe Fields, it was not surprising that a few voices were raised in protest. After all, Fields served a little stint in the penal system several years ago when he plead nolo contendre to charges that he had propositioned several very young girls. Having someone of such questionable character host a symposium of the magnitude that is expected, would simply further the already growing chasm that is evident and growing within the rank and file.

Bill White and Tom Metzger have both been credited with bringing Fields’ past and the list of his supporters to the forefront of this matter. In true factitious Bill White hyperbole, White posted the following:

“Stormfront Bans Posters Who Question Fields
Man Diddled Little Girl For Home Movies Is Close Associate Of Kelso, Strom

“A man who raped little girls in front a video camera for his home viewing pleasure is being protected by Stormfront officials, who have banned at least five people from their website today for questioning the organization's involvement with Joe Fields.

Fields made a name for himself working as a political organizer for David Duke and Willis Carto in the early 1990s, but his organization, the Nationalist Forum, collapsed after Tom Metzger circulated copies of his criminal record to white nationalist leaders.

”In 2005, though, Fields restarted the Nationalist Forum with the support of Jamie Kelso, Don Black and Kevin Strom -- and now enjoys support from a wide band of white nationalist political figures. A conference he has planned for March has figures such as Paul Fromm, Michael Collins Piper, Willis Carto, Edgar Steele and Ed Fields billed as speakers.”

One can only speculate on the purpose of such a statement, but I would venture to guess that Bill White was capitalizing on the fact that other prominent people had just been indicted on child porn and molestation charges and the fact that lots of accusatory fingers were pointing at the Stormfront eunuchs Don Black, Jamie Kelso, David Duke, et. al. as the relationship between those three and some of their supporters has been questioned by many both on the right and on the left.

There is no evidence that any physical contact was made by Fields with the girls in question and where Mr. White came up with that headline is anyone’s guess. However, that does not mean that Joe Fields was innocent – far from it. The definite rancor between Metzger, White, and Fields is more than apparent and it is sometimes difficult to know where the distortion of the story ends and the truth begins. However, given the players in this drama, it doesn’t take a Mensa IQ to deduce that with the track record of most of these people, even the most outrageous claims must be considered.

J. Edgar Steele, racist attorney and mouthpiece for lost causes within the movement, was scheduled to address the attendees until he was made aware of the trouble that might cause him. In a scathing letter, and after some research into the Fields debacle, Steele attacked Joe Fields mercilessly and withdrew his name from the speaker list. His letter has been spread throughout the internet, and it is pretty safe to say that Joe Fields’ reputation has taken a major hit once again.

In Steele’s letter, many valid points are made. Far be it from me to agree with much of anything that has ever come out of Mr. Steele’s mouth as I find him to be somewhat of a buffoon and a Philistine. Yet, when you’re right, you’re right and I will share the points that I agree with.

1. “Pleading nolo to a charge (literally, "no contest," or "you got me dead to rights and I ain't got no defense") is a fiction created by the courts to allow guys like Fields to claim, somehow, that they didn't really plead guilty. Courts do this because it saves time by getting cases closed that, otherwise, would have to be tried in order to obtain the inevitable guilty verdict. People pleading "nolo" get marked down as "guilty" and are sentenced accordingly.”

This has always been my contention on the “nolo” plea and I have frequently wondered why such a plea is even allowed. American Jurisprudence, in and of itself, is already awkward and clunky enough without such vagaries.

2. “The file speaks for itself. Joe pled, did some hard time and then served extended probation.”

Few innocent people ever plead guilty to charges that will list them as a sex-offenders. There were nine unrelated girls who picked Mr. Fields out of a photo line-up. He had no defense and he copped a plea with the District Attorney – plain and simple, the man appears to be guilty.

3. “Fields also wrote an extended letter to the WN community at the time which attempted to explain away the charges and his admissions thereto. He lied extensively in it about the charges, the meaning of his pleas, his lawyer and about appealing the result. Fields tried to blame copping the pleas on his lawyer's pressure and lying, then made some truly remarkable claims about the lawyer, to boot.


”I found no evidence of Fields appealing squat. He lied about that.

”Quite recently, I spoke at length with Fields' lawyer at the time, Encino lawyer David Currie. Though Currie was unable to discuss much about the case, due to attorney-client privilege, California Attorney Disciplinary rules do allow an attorney to speak out enough to rebut charges made by an ex-client. Currie unequivocally called Fields' written charges (he never even had heard about Fields' letter prior to my call) "absolutely false." I believe him. Fields lied about his lawyer.”

There must be an unwritten law somewhere that we anti-racists are not aware of that tells these racists to blame others for their problems. That just must seem to make living as a racist a whole lot easier. We see it all the time. “They won’t give me a law license – it must be the Jews.” I got busted for carving a swastika into her ankle – it’s only because ZOG hates Nazi’s.” “My lawyer must be Jewish because he talked me into this plea bargain.” And so it is in the racist world.

4. “It is our responsibility to clean up our own act and condemn those among us who break the law, particularly when violations so thoroughly trash the fundamental principles upon which we stand.


5. ”Make no mistake: Joe Fields was not a political prisoner. Obviously, neither is Kevin Strom. These men do not deserve our support. They have not earned our indulgence for this sort of thing. If we do not step up and condemn their actions, then we are hypocrites and worse.”


Yes…it is your responsibility and these actions fly directly in the face of all white nationalists. However, when you engage yourselves in something as seedy and reprehensible as practicing hate against others and considering yourselves superior, what can you expect? The groups and individuals involved in all of this are largely comprised of common, crass, borderline sociopaths who have no regard for societal expectations and no ability to even see beyond their own myopic view of the world.

While Steele almost sounds sane in his statements, we must remember that his rational demeanor may only appear that way to us because of the irrational people that we deal with in this melee of hate on a daily basis.

In the middle of all of this hoopla over his symposium and his penchant for young girls, neither Fields nor his wife Deirdre remained completely silent. First, the conference entitled “No More Wars For Israel” was pushed back – first to late April and then to sometime in the summer. I can only speculate that the recent flap was truly taking its’ toll on those affiliated with this group. Next, Deirdre wrote a letter on her husbands behalf and had it posted on VNN where a good deal of the upheaval was taking place.

In elegant prose, Mrs. Fields attempted to lay J. Edgar Steele, Bill White, and Tom Metzger flat. First, it should be noted that California law has a “child annoyance” statute. Supposedly, this statute is an attempt to arrest those who like to prey on minors, but have yet to commit a physical act. This is what Fields copped the plea to. In an attempt to paint her husband in a more positive light, Deirdre had this to say:

“THE ACTUAL CHARGES: Joe was accused of driving past some teenagers and asking them a question. There were three alleged instances, each lasting just seconds; one with an 18 year old; and the other two involving groups of teenagers – Whites with Mexicans -- with no indication as to which teenager he is supposed to have addressed in particular. Such a group situation is hardly conducive to raping anyone, nor to actually “picking up” anyone.

”As I recall, the first alleged approach was an invitation to “be in a movie,” without any kind of movie being specified; in the next alleged encounter, apparently a girly asked “What kind of movie?”, and the response was allegedly “a porno”. Now this might indeed amount to an insult, and surely the girls might have been annoyed -- it might also, have been a sarcastic, reality call that like so many of the girls strutting about L.A. , they were dressed like porno actresses (supposing it happened that is).

”The 18 year old was asked whether she wanted to “invest her money” – in what was not specified -- which can hardly be taken seriously.
It all sounds like some guy wising off at some girls dressed like sluts.”

Considering that nine girls picked Joe Fields out of a photo line-up, I am inclined to believe that it, in fact, happened. Additionally, the statement by Deirdre reeks of “She asked for it.” How many times have women been raped and later humiliated by the perpetrator and insensitive others claiming that she must have wanted it otherwise she wouldn’t have dressed that way? Women have fought long and hard to educate the public to the fallacies of such thoughts and Deirdre, the good little Nazi wife, fails to realize that no female ever deserves such treatment.

Addressing much of what she has written to Steele, she asks, “Do you, on the contrary, think that verbal suggestions or insinuations should be prosecuted in the harshest manner possible, and that a person should pay for the rest of his life for a mid-life verbal indiscretion?”

Many men do, in fact, experience what is euphemistically termed “a mid-life crisis.” Few, however, would ever dream of approaching underage girls with propositions and sexual innuendoes. Thank God that most men, crisis or no, consider minors as off limits and would never even think to approach them in such a manner. Deirdre’s attempt to excuse her husband’s behavior as being a perfectly understandable case of sluts on a street corner just asking to be solicited by someone in crisis is just a little over the top for me to buy. As she is reportedly the mother of five children I wonder what she would say should some little old man make advances toward one of her daughters.

Citing the many things that Joe has done for the white race over the years Deirdre slams Steele and Metzger and Bill White for their lack of appreciation and postulates that her husband may very well have been set up because of his public activism, once again laying the blame somewhere else as has become the norm for the racist right.

A few days later, Joe Fields weighed in with his version. Claiming that he had been set up and that he had been “pressured” into a plea, he attacked Tom Metzger by calling him a tool for the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Morris Dees. In a long and laborious tirade which included his many “accomplishments” for “the cause,” there was no mention of this mid-life crisis that Deirdre relied upon, no mention of “sluts” or scantily dressed girls. His whole premise was that he was set up.

So…was this a situation of a man in the middle of a mid-life crisis who went around the bend, a man with plans to take his talk to another level, or a man who was the victim of the local police? Of course, I don’t know the answer – only he does. However, any way you slice it, it’s a mess.

It does, however, demonstrate the sickness that is so pervasive among the racist right. In the middle of all of this, a seldom heard from nutcase in the form of John “Birdman” Bryant had one of his repugnant essays posted on the board. In this essay he claims that pedophilia is basically a victimless crime and that no one really gets hurt. He goes on to say, “In short, I think that all the hoo-ha and hyperventilation over pedophilia is much do-do about pretty much nothing, and I think it is time for the Right to get over its apoplectic intolerance of a practice which is already rife among the elite, which is likely to become largely accepted in the future, about which there is no good evidence that it is harmful, and which
– as explained in earlier essays — desperately needs to be legalized in order to reduce instances of abuse.”

There are many, many people on the racist right who claim that having sex with teen-aged girls is natural and desirable. They see absolutely nothing wrong with marrying or bedding a fourteen year old. I tend to think that this, again, is all about power. White supremacists suffer from a paranoia that is all about power. They have a perverse and all pervading fear that should the white race ever become the minority the loss of power that whites have so long enjoyed, would result in retribution for all the white privilege that has been enjoyed for so long.

Being in control is very important to the white supremacist. In the home, the man is the decider – he is the one who rules the roost and in today’s world one of the things he hates the most is an independent woman which may very well account for his desire and attraction toward young, and impressionable girls. They are easier to manage, mold, and train and some leaders in the movement tell their following just that. Marry a young girl and you can make her into the perfect little Nazi wife – one that won’t talk back – one who is obedient and thankful for her wonderful husband.

The psychosis of the racist mindset is pervasive and debilitating. It undermines rationality and it cripples the growing process that makes individuals human and compassionate. Often it renders its’ host incapable of even the most simple form of human relationships. Now, it seems that the old adage “Misery loves company,” is quite true – as those who inhabit the hollow tunnels of hatred and bigotry seem to be attracting the very dregs of our society in unprecedented numbers.

Let’s look at this clearly for just a minute. Kevin Alfred Strom is arrested on charges of child porn. In his earlier years, David Duke wrote a sex manual for women under a female pseudonym. David Duke’s right hand man Vincent Breeding is found to be involved in the making of pornographic films and, supposedly, leaves the movement. David Duke exits prison with a meth habit and picks up a new houseboy in Jamie Kelso, and they purchase a luxury car in both their names. Don Black, long time friend and supporter of Duke, heralds Duke’s return and provides him with a vehicle in which to spread his message in the form of Stormfront. Boston National Vanguard leader, Matthew Downing is arrested on charges of statutory rape and inducing a fourteen year old into prostitution.

After the Strom arrest, Don Black said that they had been worried about that clearly indicating prior knowledge of Strom’s child porn fetish or activities. Now, we learn that a symposium to be held by Joe Fields might not happen because Fields has been maligned as a sexual predator for his crimes years ago. All of this is coming from just the Stormfront group. How many other groups have the same problem? Remember the National Socialist Movement having John Snyder, convicted rapist and felon, in a high position? How about the Chairman of the NSM helping his wife run the Joy of Satan Ministries? Let’s not forget that she was guiding impressionable and vulnerable teen-agers in sexual acts with demons.

This is the racist movement today. No longer are we very worried about the Klan setting fire to a cross in the neighbor’s yard. We aren’t sweating the occasional neo-Nazi boneheads marching in our cities. What we are most concerned about are those who prey on our youth. We worry about them being indoctrinated into a life of hate and violence, of course, but we also have to worry about them being taken in by sexual deviants who seem to have found a home among the racist groups.

Whether the charges levied against these twisted aberrant people are valid is anyone’s guess at this juncture. However, there are so many who have been arrested, charged, convicted that it stands to reason something is very amiss within the racist realm. For those on the right who have been advocating a general house cleaning, you had better bring some very big brooms and be prepared to see a drastic number drop in your membership.

Pedophilia and the abuse of children cannot and should not ever be taken lightly. People who prey upon the young physically or emotionally are the sickest of the sick. The many attempts at justifying such acts that I have witnessed since the Strom arrest have not only sickened me, but told me that this battle against hate is being moved to another plane. It’s no longer just about racism, bigotry, or prejudice. It’s about a mindset that knows nothing of morals, values, or integrity. It’s about a group of individuals who live in a gutter and want to pull everyone else down there with them. It’s about self-loathing so ingrained within their psyche that they wish to defile anything that is innocent and good and so very much unlike them. God help them…because I can’t.
