A NEW "TWIST" ON BARRETT

By Howard Ballou

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Our 3 On Your Side investigation in this case has revealed there may have been a motive other than money for the murder of Richard Barrett.

Official sources who asked not to be identified, tell WLBT, 22-year-old Vincent McGee, in his confession, alleged Barrett made sexual advances to him, apparently sending McGee into a rage, a rage that ended in murder.

We asked Sheriff Pennington about it. He had no comment other than to say the murder was not racially motivated. Rankin-Madison County District Attorney Michael Guest also would not discuss specifics of the case, but he did have this to say.

"I was surprised to hear about this and then as the case unfolded, there were other twists and turns that again were unforeseen in this case," Guest said.

McGee's family members told WLBT, Thursday night, that McGee, when he was a teenager, before he went to prison, knew Barrett and had worked for him.

  1. No suprises that TPTB would spin it this way. They did the same thing in the TB murder case.

  2. Well...it might be "spin" then again, maybe not. Now, if you want real spin - check out what the white nationalists are trying to sell us. Of course..."it was the Jews."

If you are familiar with Barrett - you HAVE to admit that he was pretty creepy.

Regardless, of all that, however - there appears to be no rationality to this murder.

  3. I think it's more likely that he was pissed over the $26 for 6 hours work... the sexual advances thing sounds made up.

Barrett was a moderate, yet the media is calling him a White Supremacist.

I am against all racism myself, but the media needs to learn that all White Nationalists are not 'supremacist'. They just love their loaded buzz words though, don't they?

  4. I wonder how the protected minority homosexual community is going to spinn this. It's supposed to be some kind of big hate crime to kill a homo, isn't it? If McGee wasn't prejudiced, he would have had sex with Barrett! Right? Ahahaha!

  5. I don't know if buy the sexual advance thing or not, but it wouldn't surprise me either considering others like Hal Turner are also bisexual.

Regardless, still no excuse for murder and just like any other murder, if the suspect is found guilty, he deserves to rot in prison for his crime.

  6. Typical slander tactic and highly expected.

They do this all the time to right wing leaders after assassinating them.
