Are We There Yet? - Almost, Honey

I’m not about to mince words here or even try to play down the seriousness of what is happening in America at this point in time. As we, as a nation, try to heal from eight years of the most inept and bogus leadership ever to be chronicled in American history we find that the division in this country is ever-increasing. Disgruntled right-wing zealots are having none of the change that was promised to us. From behind their bully-pulpits, from their Congressional offices, from their radio microphones and television studios the ultra-right wing has raised its ugly head with a vengence. This vengence has generated much ire and downright ‘pissedoffedness’ from those of us seeking truth, integrity, and change.

While much has been written over the last few weeks about the disruptions and distortions engaged in by the radical right from the “birthers” and health-care reform opponents, for much of America the alarm bells haven’t really sounded yet – but they better. They better ring out and it had better happen soon.

Sara Robinson of Campaign For America’s Future has written a series of articles that really demand to be read by anyone who is concerned about what is happening in this country…here’s an excerpt from the first article:

All through the Bush years, progressive right-wing watchers refused to call it “fascism” because, though we kept looking, we never saw clear signs of a deliberate, committed institutional partnership forming between America’s conservative elites and its emerging homegrown brownshirt horde. We caught tantalizing signs of brief flirtations — passing political alliances, money passing hands, far-right moonbat talking points flying out of the mouths of “mainstream” conservative leaders. But it was all circumstantial, and fairly transitory. The two sides kept a discreet distance from each other, at least in public. What went on behind closed doors, we could only guess. They certainly didn’t act like a married couple. Now, the guessing game is over. We know beyond doubt that the Teabag movement was created out of whole cloth by astroturf groups like Dick Armey’s FreedomWorks and Tim Phillips’ Americans for Prosperity, with massive media help from FOX News. We see the Birther fracas — the kind of urban myth-making that should have never made it out of the pages of the National Enquirer — being openly ratified by Congressional Republicans. We’ve seen Armey’s own professionally-produced field manual that carefully instructs conservative goon squads in the fine art of disrupting the democratic governing process — and the film of public officials being terrorized and threatened to the point where some of them required armed escorts to leave the building. We’ve seen Republican House Minority Leader John Boehner applauding and promoting a video of the disruptions and looking forward to “a long, hot August for Democrats in Congress.”

This is the sign we were waiting for — the one that tells us that yes, kids: we are there now. America’s conservative elites have openly thrown in with the country’s legions of discontented far right thugs. They have explicitly deputized them and empowered them to act as their enforcement arm on America’s streets, sanctioning the physical harassment and intimidation of workers, liberals, and public officials who won’t do their political or economic bidding.

This is the catalyzing moment at which honest-to-Hitler fascism begins. It’s also our very last chance to stop it.

(Can be sung to the tune of "Bad Moon Rising")

    I see Obama Jokers risin’
I see those posters all around
    Sure seems politically surprisin’
    Must mean approval’s hitting ground

    Don’t think I’m the man
    For your socialistic plan
When the Joker hits the fan

Health care is something quite important
Health care is something we all need
Town halls, if they’re a potent portent,
    Folks hate ObamaCare indeed!

    Don’t think I’m the man
    For your socialistic plan
When the Joker hits the fan

Looks like quite a change in weather
Must be the winds of liberty
Liberals are blowin’ round like feathers
Town halls have speech that’s finally free

    Don’t think I’m the man
    For your socialistic plan
When the Joker hits the fan

    Take back your governmental mandates
Taxes that sink us like a stone
Don’t think we’re all a bunch of ingrates
We just prefer to choose our own

    Don’t think I’m the man
    For your socialistic plan
When the Joker hits the fan

We don’t need government to guide us
We’re not just “public option” cogs
We don’t need senators to chide us
We won’t throw Granny to the dogs

    Don’t think I’m the man
    For your socialistic plan

  2. Nikki, Nikki, Nikki...

    tsk tsk tsk...

Are you trying to say that these old people that are showing up to these town hall meetings don't have the right to do so? This is the essense of our democratic republic.

I just don't get what it is you are trying to say here. Just what in the Hell are you trying to say?

Would you prefer that the American people just shut up and this agenda get rubber stamped?

It really is a mistake to dismiss these Americans that disagree at "un-American" "traitor" "Nazis" ect...

  3. What she is saying and what you'd understand if you would actually read what she wrote is that these people are showing up at the meetings not to discuss but to shout down and disrupt the meetings. This is undemocratic, if you want to debate that is fine, it is the American way but not yelling over everyone else for the sole purpose of disruption.

This is the action of a small group of people who are trying to oppose their will on the majority. It is clearly wrong and very much in the mold of how the Nazi party obtained power in the 30's.

You guys act like you lost the election. Obama doesn't need A SINGLE republican vote to "Rham" through any of his Socialist agenda.

What's wrong with some concervatives having a radio microphone? (they seem to be able to use it far better than any "progressive" including the dufuses here)... Why do you bitch and moan about the bullypulpit? Black radicals have used their tax exempt pulpits to advance black nationalism for years...

You guys really are fucking sore-winners. Jesus H. fucking Christ you have control of the Executive and Legislative and you are fucking whining because a few on the right-side of the aisle are communicating their displeasure?

Sounds to me like you don't want opposition at all.

Like it or not THIS IS AMERICA AND PEOPLE "STILL" HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOICE THEIR OPINIONS.

JESUS, THIS WEBSITE RAISES MY BLOOD PRESSURE EVERYTIME I READ TRIPE LIKE THIS. IDIOCY JUST ENRAGES ME.

  5. Roul...don't give me that. It isn't un-American to raise your voice at these things.

If you are honest with yourself you would agree those on the Left were far more disruptive at these sorts of gatherings for the last 8 years...the internet is full of examples.

Remember the pie-throwing bullshit at the universities when people were invited to talk about immigration? Those sorts of antics are the forte of the Left...Oh, don't get me started.

  7. No, I am honest and do know the facts. The GOP has a long history of thinking they are above and beyond the law. Was the left silent about George Bush? No but it is not a matter of raising your voice, it is a matter of creating a disruption so bad that the meeting can not continue. I am not a big fan of the far left either, however I haven't seen them do something this reprehensible in a while.

You are just repeating more of the same by taking Hilary out of context. What she has asked Americans to do is to come to these town hall meetings and be respectful. You can ask your questions without screaming over other people. By being respectful everyone's voice can be heard.

Health care reform is clearly needed. We as Americans can come together to fix the problems. I can see the GOP's frustration in not having more say in the plan but remember it was they who lost the mandate of the American people due to eight years of ineptitude. They have no one to blame but themselves.

    FCK off!, you imbecile MAGGOT!

it was the judæo-marxist left who attempted to stop the National Socialists "getting through" to the ordinary German people....that's wtf Hitler had to create the "SA"....read Mein Kampf, you ignorant FUCK!

Germany in the 1920s, just like the 'Kwa and most "Western" nations today, was being right, royally BUTT-fucked by the kikez!

countless millions of white people had already been "genocided" by these jew fiends in the jew-SSR....Germany was next....they also had the "in-yr-face" example of the Bela-Kun psychopathic kike "regime" in Hungary virtually on their back door-stop!

Hitler & the National Socialists were the only ones who could have saved the average German from a fate worse than death....subjugation by the jewz!

that's why he was almost regarded as "a god"!

and so....Hitler was DEAD RIGHT when he said this revolution will never be over-thrown by any force within Germany....it took the combined forces of the entire kike-controlled ZOG-bot "Western World" (the jewSSR, the jewK & the jewSA) almost six-years to over-throw one of the best hopes & prospects for the White Race in the last thousand years!

if Hitler had to have won WWII, shite like this would not be happening now!

the whole of Nature groans in agony under the un-sustainable weight of hideous, worthless mud-maggot "people"....only their total expungation from existence can save Nature's finest creation (the White Race) and Nature it-self!

  9. I work in a day care and my fat assed employer (Bernie) is too damn cheap to provide me with health care. This makes it hard me to afford my psychotropic drugs that I need. When I don't get my meds I start talking stupid and crazy like this last asshole, Jimbo and thinking the Jews run everything. This is why I am all for 110% unequivocally for Obama care. Wite Power! Heil Hitler!

Those of you attending the town halls...don't let up...YOU ARE BEING HEARD...you are making a difference...If they actually thought you were astroturf they would have continued on with the single-payer/public option.

***A small victory for the people...THIS TIME.

  15. The administrations timing of this thing is what defeated it.

They try to pass this thing on the heals of Tarp and adding 2 trillion dollars on the debt within six months.

Look, people are losing their jobs and their scared of financial collapse--not a good time to pass something like this.

  16. Violence is the very tactic that the left is prepared for. The Southern Poverty Law Center released a report several days ago indicating that right-wing militias and hate groups are on the rise and threatening insurrection. This is essentially a recycled article that is trotted out by the SPLC with each new presidential administration, citing many of the same tired anecdotal examples such as Ruby Ridge and Waco's Branch Davidians as evidence of growing violence.

The only thing new in the piece is blaming the supposed increase in extremist activity on alleged racism toward a black president. No evidence to support this contention was presented, however. Nonetheless, many news outlets, including Associated Press and CBS News, picked up the story and sensationalized it. A quote from the article states, "All it's lacking is a spark". All that is missing in this leftist wishful fantasy is another Timothy McVeigh. If he doesn't show up on his own, someone may create him. They would love nothing better than capturing a group of violent "right-wing crazies" on video committing some atrocity.

  17. I am reading all that is coming out now and it does appear that a compromise is in the works - this probably won't bode well for Obama. It will be interesting to see what form this compromise takes and what might be eliminated or added to the Bill.

To the last anonymous - why are we talking about the militia piece here?

    ReplyDelete
  18. LOL. Obama ain't going to get what he wants on this score. He has backed down (somewhat).

Hell, he ain't even calling it healtcare reform anymore. He called it Healthcare insurance reform this past Saturday in Colorado.

He AIN'T getting his single payer system or anything that even resembles it.

You want to know why? Because people let their congresscritters and senators know back home that if the DO vote for this thing they WILL be voted out when they are up for re-election.

    Simple as that.

Hell, at this point Obama may not even get his waterdowned version of health reform at this pace.

Which is a WIN for the American people btw.
