Tookie - Too Little - Too Late

Crips founder, Stanley "Tookie" Williams, will be put to death by lethal injection just a few minutes after midnight. California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, asked "Is Williams' redemption complete and sincere, or is it just a hollow promise?" He then went on to say, "Without an apology and atonement for these senseless and brutal killings, there can be no redemption."

Willaims has been on death row for twenty-four years and has exhausted every avenue for a reversal or clemency. He was convicted in 1981 for killing a convenience store clerk during a hold-up and a mother, father, and their daughter during a motel robbery a couple of weeks later.

Tookie has been credited with founding the violent Crips street gang along with Raymond Washington who was killed some time back by a rival gang. The Crips gang started in California and spread across the United States resulting in the murders and maiming of scores of individuals.

After spending close to seven years in solitary confinement, Williams authored a series of books for elementary aged children on the dangers of gangs. This garnered him a Nobel Peace Prize nomination by Swiss MP Mario Fehr in 2001. It was too little too late, however.

Perhaps his greatest enemy has been his consistent denial of the crimes for which he was convicted. He claimed that his conviction had been based on "heresay" from the witnesses who testified.

Threats have been flying from Crips in the prison, and some say from outside, that there will be reprucussions should Williams be executed. Many music, TV, and movie stars have been actively attempting to get Tookie's sentence commuted. Today, however, the decision to execute was made in spite of their efforts.

  1. He not only killed four people. There's no telling how many were killed through the Nigger Ape gang he started.

Yes, he's finally ging to pay his dues in full.

  2. The firing squad would be too quick. These Savages really should be publically lynched on a lamp post in front of the Court house. That would drive the point home to the other Savages that they won't be tolerated.

  3. The only way I would have support clemency in this case is if every single inmate on death row were also given clemency in California.

I'm against the death penalty but I also feel this case did not warrant any special attention for a reduction in sentence.

His defense claimed to have new witnesses. After 25 years on death row, new witnesses just showed up? Bullshit.

If he was going to get clemency, everyone should also.

Hopefully one day, the death penalty in America, which is a joke today, will be gone. Life sentence under the harshes conditions should replace the death penalty.

  4. This one was hard for me. Like you, Harry, I'm against the death penalty. But, I was also not convinced that he was this "changed man" that his supporters were claiming.

Four murders...and a gang that has been, perhaps, the worse thing that has ever materialized when it comes to our children. The victims weren't only those he killed and their families - but thousands upon thousands of others who have been dealing with the death and destruction caused by the gang mentality.

I'm still against the death penalty. But...writing a few books for grade school children doesn't absolve him of the horrors that have perpetrated upon all of us.

  5. Big Daddy Nigger is juiced last night and now Big Daddy's Little Nigger Jr may join him.

    Compliments of Hal:

Like Father, Like Son. . .
SON OF "TOOKIE" WILLIAMS WANTED FOR GUNPOINT RAPE

Now that we have taken care of Stanley "Tookie" Williams, who hads just been executed for murder, it's time to go after his bad seed! A son of Stanley "Tookie" Williams allegedly raped a girl at gunpoint!
I'm not quite sure what to say about this. . . . . . But then again, what more needs to be said. There's a difference between black people and niggers. The niggers gotta go.

  6. Gang murders are horrible but you know something, when is the last time a death penalty was given to a gang member for a driveby shooting of another gang member?
The public just rolls its eyes and says it just another murder. Fox News and others don't even bother to report those.

But yet if a gang member breaks into a house and kills a pretty white girl, he'll almost certainly get the death penalty. The public goes nuts demanding the death penalty. It makes Fox News for weeks on end.

The death penalty is not fair. It should be eliminated and all those on death row reduced to life in prison without parole but I would make their prison life a living hell.

It should also be eliminated because of the slim chance that a wrongly convicted person was put to death.

And it does NOTHING to deter crime. Nada, ziltch, nothing. It cost more to prosecute a death penalty case then it does to confine someone to prison for life.

  7. Well...I said I was against the death penalty - and I am but maybe not for the reasons that you might think. This is what I believe - for whatever it's worth.

    1) The chance that an innocent person may be executed weighs heavily in my belief.

    2) Supporting the death penalty makes us no better than the criminal.

    3) It DOES NOT serve as a deterent - maybe it did in Vlad's realm, Stefan - but not in American society.

    4) In many instances death is the easy way out. Too easy. Timothy McVeigh wanted to die - he asked them to put him to death. Was that because he was remorseful for the taking of the lives of 198 people including 19 children? No. He wanted to die so he could be a martyr. That - and he knew he would never have to tell the truth about his crime.

    5) If we are using the death penalty as "punishment," why don't we really punish the murderer - or the rapist - or, especially, the pedophile? If someone harmed one of mine - I don't want them to die. I want them to live a very long life - in very miserable conditions. Put them in a cage and throw them some meat once in awhile. Don't lay them down and put them quietly asleep. Make them live with the knowledge that what they did was reprehensible and that they will pay for it for a very long time.

I see nothing accomplished by our use of the death sentence. Unfortunately, our judicial system is broken - it just doesn't work any more. It favors the haves over the have nots - and there is NOTHING just about that. Money rules - and with money you can get away with anything.

What was accomplished last night? Not one damned thing. Is this world a safer place because Tookie Williams is dead? Are people going to be kinder and gentler to each other? Was Tookie Williams guilty of murder? I think so - time and time again. I just have to believe that there must be a better way.

I realize that you have an impairment, Stevo...but, perhaps you need to reread everything before you make such statements. I said...
